They are prisoners, they don’t get any friggen rights

Bouhammer | August 11, 2010

I just read this article and it made me sick to my stomach. http://www.military.com/news/article/two-marines-killed-by-afghan-prisoner.html “The prisoner escaped a room where he was observing prayer time, acquired a rifle and subsequently engaged Afghan and coalition forces. The Marines were killed while trying to subdue the prisoner,” said NATO in a statement. This is what we get [...]

Ok, what now?

Bouhammer | June 24, 2010

1. So McChrystal is gone ( a serious mistake on the part of the President)2. Petraeus has been demoted down to lead the fight in Afghanistan3. Who will lead CENTCOM or are they expecting Petraeus who fainted last week before a Senate Committee to do both jobs? And all of this as we now learn [...]

“Idiots on the Internet” week?

Bouhammer | May 27, 2010

This has been a hell of a week in the milblog world. For some reason the sun and warmth of the cusp into the summer season has brought out idiots across the internet that have felt it necessary to pick fights with many of the leading milblogs. Between David Axe, Michael Yon, Craig Hooper, Robert [...]

The DADT controversy split amongst milbloggers

Bouhammer | May 13, 2010

Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT) is about as controversial in the military as the black beret as a universal headgear. For the past two weeks a group of us milbloggers have been discussing the issuance of a formal letter on the support of the repealing of it, if the Service Chiefs determine it should be. [...]

Time has not healed the hate for the Black Beret

Bouhammer | May 12, 2010

A few days back my good friend, CJ Grisham wrote a blog entry over on You Served (http://www.vamortgagecenter.com/blog/2010/05/05/dump-the-beret/) about the need to dump the Beret. After reading that post, it got me thinking about how many times many members of the military have written about the need to get rid of the black beret as [...]

Don’t disrespect my Flag, too many have died for it

Bouhammer | May 6, 2010

I try not to get my blood boiling over small things any more in life, but there are limits and sometimes I can’t stay quiet. I could not let this pass without pounding the keyboard. Read below to see what I am talking about. http://militarypundits.com/2010/05/california-students-sent-home-for-wearing-american-flag-shirts/

One of the worst ideas ever!

Bouhammer | May 4, 2010

You have got to be kidding me? Promising awards to soldiers for “not shooting”! NATO commanders are weighing a new way to reduce civilian casualties in Afghanistan: recognizing troops for “courageous restraint” if they avoid using force that could endanger innocent lives. That is as dumb as what Shinsenki did when he came up with [...]

"Blog Description"

The Bouhammer [boo-ham-er] blog was originally created by a 22-year retired First Sergeant of the Army. This blog started out as a way to write about military related issues. It turned into a way for Bouhammer to document his 16 month tour as an ETT leader in Afghanistan for family and friends. It is now one of the leading and award-winning blogs written exclusively on operations in Afghanistan and other military related topics. In addition to Bouhammer, another writer is "The Dude" who is a National Guard Officer who served with Bouhammer in Afghanistan. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy what you see. If you care about what is happening in the land where the attacks of 9/11 were planned and if you care about our military, this is the blog for you. Tell your family, tell your friends, and even tell people you don't like.
